Garment accessories (buttons and zippers) in Yiwu: where the category is traded, what to check before you order, and the mistakes buyers make.

Garment accessories in Yiwu: buttons, zippers and trims

Buttons, zippers, garment accessories and accessory parts trade from floor 3 of International Trade City District 3, with a factory direct-sales centre on floor 4. The same district puts cosmetics, mirrors and combs on the same floor, which matters when you buy a mixed accessories order.

Accessories are the category where the buyer is usually serving a garment programme, so the buying question is fit and continuity rather than unit price.

What to check before you order

Ask for the size range, the material and the colour matching method, and insist on a physical reference for colour, since the same dye lot rarely repeats exactly.

Ask whether the supplier holds the specific sizes your programme uses, or whether they are made to order, because that changes the lead time you should plan for.

Where the mistakes happen

Colour and size continuity is the classic failure: a second delivery that does not match the first is hard to sell even when each piece is fine on its own. Keep a sealed reference from the first run.

The second trap is mixing accessory types inside one carton to save freight. Tag every carton with its programme and lot so the shortage can be traced to a line rather than to a shipment.

We do not publish per-stall prices. Ask each supplier for the unit price at three quantities and at the same specification, and treat any level quoted on this page as a starting point for negotiation rather than a market rate.
