Seasonal goods, crafts and decoration in Yiwu

Craft gifts, festive ornaments, picture frames and decoration trade from floor 3 of International Trade City District 1, and District 5 floor 1 lists jewellery, crafts and a dedicated African products section alongside food and daily goods. The production materials market adds creative decor products on floor 3.

Seasonal goods are the clearest example of a category where the buying calendar matters more than the unit price, because the sell-through window is short and the design has to be decided early.

What to check before you order

Ask about the production lead time and the cut-off for adding new designs, because a seasonal line that arrives after the selling window has started is worthless regardless of its cost.

Ask which safety and labelling rules apply to the destination market for the specific product, especially for anything intended for children or for food contact.

Where the mistakes happen

The first failure is buying on last season's sell-through numbers without checking what has changed in the market, which leaves a buyer holding designs that no longer match demand.

The second is the mixed carton again, and it is worse in seasonal goods because the slow lines cannot be cleared later at a discount in the same market.

We do not publish per-stall prices. Ask each supplier for the unit price at three quantities and at the same specification, and treat any level quoted on this page as a starting point for negotiation rather than a market rate.
